Hrvoje Štefančić, PhD

Curriculum Vitae

Born on 24 January 1973 in Našice, Croatia. From September 1979 till June 1987 attended primary school in Našice and from September 1987 till May 1991 attended secondary school in Našice. As a secondary school student participated in two International Physics Olympiads in Groningen, Netherlands in 1990 and in La Habana, Cuba in 1991. Received his B. Sc. in physics from University of Zagreb in July 1996, thesis: "Inclusive decays of heavy quarks". After graduate studies in theoretical physics  received his Ph. D. in theoretical physics from University of Zagreb in July 2002 with a thesis: "Hierarchy of lifetimes of hadrons containing heavy quarks". From August 1997 to July 2002 worked as a research assistant and from July 2002 to May 2005 as a postdoctoral research assistant at the Theoretical Physics Division of the Ruđer Bošković Institute. On May 2005 he was permanently employed at the Theoretical Physics Division of the Ruđer Bošković Institute. At that institution he held the position of research associate from May 2005 till March 2010 and from March 2010 he holds the position of the senior research associate. From March 2005 – August 2006 he stayed at Universitat de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain as a postdoctoral fellow. Currently he is participating at ZSEM graduate study.
