Svend E. Hougaard Jensen, PhD

Curriculum Vitae

Svend E. Hougaard Jensen is a professor of economics at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He is also the director of the Pension Research Centre (PeRCent) at CBS. Before joining CBS, he held positions at the University of Southern Denmark and the University of Copenhagen. On leave from academia, Hougaard Jensen has served as head of the Division of Economic Analysis within the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs. He has received several awards for his academic work, including Jørgen Pedersen Prisen for his Master thesis (“best thesis of the year”); Lundbeckprisen for a monograph on the economic challenges to the Danish economy caused by demographic changes, and Grundfosprisen for a contribution on challenges for research and education policy in Denmark. Hougaard Jensen graduated with a cand. oecon. degree (MSc, Economics) from the University of Aarhus, an MA (Economics) degree from the University of Manchester, and he earned his PhD (Economics) degree from the London Business School. He serves as the academic director of the Zagreb School of Economics Master of Arts in Economics program, where he teaches the course Economics of the euro.
