Andreja Brajša-Žganec, PhD

Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Brajša-Žganec was born in 1967 in Varaždin, Croatia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Zagreb in 1991, where she also earned her Master's Degree in 1997, and finally her PhD in 2002. She has been a member of the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences since 1992, first as a Research Fellow, then in 2003 as a Research Associate, from 2007 as a Senior Research Associate and currently as senior research fellow.  In 2005, she was named as a Docent at the teaching Faculty of the University of Zagreb, in 2009 she was named as Associate Professor at the Croatian Studies Faculty of the University of Zagreb and 2013 as a Full Professor. So far, she has participated in thirty international and domestic scientific projects (currently FP7, Eurofond, COST). She teaches Developmental Psychology and Educational Psychology at the Psychology program of the Croatian Studies and The Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb. At the Zagreb School of Economics and Management she teaches the Managerial Techniques, and Teamwork Techniques and Skills courses. She is visiting Professor in postgraduate studies at the University J.J. Strrosmayera in Osijek and Rijeka University. Dr. Brajša Žganec has also participated in numerous academic study trips to Austria and Germany where she completed a program in systemic family therapy (Austria), and earned the diploma of Systemic Family therapist from the European Association for Psychotherapy. She is a member of two domestic and few international scientific societies. From 2007 she is Croatia’s representative on the SC on Ethics of the EFPA. She is a member of editorial boards of Croatian social science journal Društvena istraživanja (Journal of social research) and Advisory editorial board of the journal „Suvremena psihologija“. In 2004, she was awarded with the annual State Prize for Science, 2012 awarded from Croatian Psychological Chamber, and 2013 from Croatian Psychological Associations. Andreja Brajša-Žganec has 20 years of work experience in scientific research of socioeconomic development of children, parents, and families in the context of development and quality of life. She has authored or co-authored four books, and over 50 scientific and professional papers and chapters, and has participated at over 60 domestic and international scientific and professional conferences.
